myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard

I saw this ad and decided to try - one thing off the bat I should have realized as a red flag - you cannot even view the options unless you pay. I did anyway and was very disappointed as the ad made it look so much more impressive. I followed step by step -read and re-read, and could not get anything to work. I’ve seen responses that many many users love the app and that’s great for them. In less steps and watching 1 tutorial o figured out how to do this for free through shortcuts (which I had never heard of so luckily for me after I’ve already spent this money and out of complete frustration, I learned something new that was way quicker, easier and no cost. Lesson learned! In future it would be great if people could actually SEE the Home Screen of app and play around with it before committing to purchase especially after such a nice (misleading) ad.

I just got the app. The connection, disconnection, and arrival sounds work and are great! but I cannot get the widgets to. No matter how many times I refresh the app, restart my phone, change settings, disconnect and reconnect my phone I cannot get the widgets option up in my CarPlay settings after I just spent 24 dollars on the app for the widgets specifically 🥲

The annual subscription may seem nominal but at the end of the day, this app only allows you to 1.) make a widget (not really that big of a deal) and 2.) set three options to play sounds when you device connects, disconnects or when you arrive at home. More times than not, the disconnect sound does not sync correctly to the vehicle shutting off so you only hear the sound through your phone. In the last day I’ve had the app active, I’ve had to reset everything just to keep it working once set up. This app has so much potential - you could play a sounds when carplay tells you your battery is low, when you connect a charger, all sorts of things. Not worth the subscription price really. Add these festures and I’ll keep it active.
