Midnight Alarm Clock

I think this app is fantastic. I love the look, flexibility, and attention to detail. My main point of concern is that it uses the media volume on the iPhone rather than ringer volume. During the day I turn my media volume down so that it’s not blasting when I open an app, which seems reasonable. Unfortunately, the alarms do not automatically turn the media volume back up, so if I have it turned down they make no noise. This has cause me to oversleep a few times. This only happens when I am reusing an alarm that already exists and is set to repeat automatically; creating a new alarm or even just adjusting the volume slider does change the media volume. My only other concern is that alarms default to whatever time it is when you create it. This is just a small gripe, but I once accidentally created an alarm that didn’t go off in the morning. I hadn’t realized, but it was automatically set to PM when I created it the night before. I hope these things can be changed. If so, this app would be literally perfect.

If you have an Apple Watch and are wearing it the notification sound and such does not sound on the phone. This normally wouldn’t be a problem but if you are like me and set a couple of wake up alarms and wear the watch to bed there sometimes is not enough vibration/sound from the watch to wake me up. Will still need to use the standard alarms for this. Otherwise, I really like this app. Purchased it. Being able to use folders is really nice. It would be nice somewhere down the road to be able to turn on/off the alarms for the entire folder. This way when I am off for a day or more from work I can just disable those alarms with one switch.

This most definitely is a good app, although it has several major flaws. Despite that I paid the money for the Pro version, hoping these flaws would be rectified, within the full pay version. They were not! Here are the flaws: Flaw #1: When I go to set-up the “Alarm” default settings, I selected 30 seconds for the “ring duration”. When I then go to set-up an “Alarm”, the “ring duration” is set to 3 minutes, not the “30 second ring duration” I set-up under the Alarm defaults. I then go back to the Alarm default settings, the “ring duration” is still set to 30 seconds. Flaw #2: When I go to set-up the “Alarm” default settings, I selected Ascending for the “alarm ring sound”.. When I then go to set-up an “Alarm”, the “alarm ring sound” is set to Apex, not the Ascending sound I had set-up under the Alarm defaults. I then go back to the Alarm default settings, the “alarm ring sound” is still set to Ascending. Flaw #3: Every time I close the Midnight app and later reopen it, in the Alarm default settings, the “alarm ring sound” goes back to Apex instead of the Ascending “alarm ring sound” I had originally selected as my default. Flaw #4: The app give you the ability to set “alarm ring sound” and “alarm durations” separately for both the Alarms and Calendars, when in fact they are one in the same. Meaning, when you select your default for one (Alarms) the other (Calendar) is reset to the same as the other (Alarms), or visa versa. These flaws makes this app not the one to use for critical alarms and events!
