My partner and I rented Lie bikes several times while in Liechtenstein as it was our primary form of transportation around the country. Unlike the only other previous review, we did not have problems authenticating our accounts. Unfortunately, we had several problems while using them the bikes. Multiple bikes did not have functioning electric power and so they were essentially a heavier regular bike. Additionally, we were unable to end a ride and the bike would not lock so we had to leave it unlocked for about 36 hours after use and there was no way to remedy the situation until customer service hours were available. Overall, I felt dissatisfied with the service.
The app makes you go through many steps in which you take photos of both sides of your ID, take a selfie, validate your phone and your email, enter your credit card details and… then you wait. There’s a message in the app assuring you that they’ll validate you and allow you to rent the bike soon, but at this point it’s been 11 hours and I still can’t rent a bike (considering I thought I could use them to get around today, I’m obviously quite frustrated). I emailed their customer service box within 20 minutes with no response. I also called, but it just sends you to a German-language automated box - good luck if you’re a tourist.
