Lake: Coloring Book for Adults

I really love this up so much! It doesn’t overwhelm me with the fancy coloring options other coloring apps have and the pictures are simple but yet amazing! (You need to get it if you haven’t). My only problem is can you offer more stuff to the people who can’t get the subscription? (Btw if you are a person who is reading this right now please get this app! Really amazing). But like how I was saying, a lot of the pictures have the subscription which right now I can’t get. If you could please make it where you can watch adds to get it? And for the subscription thing can you make it a little cheaper? (I understand if you can’t). One last suggestion. Is there a way you can add a music feature where u can listen to music while coloring? Like rain music, ocean sounds, etc. I understand for most people they don’t like listening to music while coloring but for the people who do could you please add it? Again, I understand if you can’t. Overall really great app and I would use this app everyday if I wasn’t busy. If you are a parent reading this, GET THIS APP FOR YOU OR FOR YOUR CHILD! Nothing inappropriate that I have seen and it’s really fun to use. Bye and please answer back creators if you can. -from a person who loves this app.

Two and a half years ago, I actually had Lake Premium, but I was forced to discontinuing the subscription as financially things became a little rougher for me. But I’ve started to return back to it and I was beyond surprised that my coloring pages from my previous time using Lake (despite getting a new iPad entirely) actually were still supported and I was greeted with them still present in the coloring books! I never had disabled iCloud or went in and deleted Lake’s data, but it’s a very nice touch! Seeing the app interface adapted for newer features with Apple Pencil Pro’s Squeeze function is neat to, especially with the complete (lacking nothing) tool menu! The only thing that’s a missed opportunity that resulted in a loss of 4 stars is two different culprits: 1) the seemingly random issue that artwork stored in iCloud and not originally on the device make coloring pages show as a white circle with a dancing line in them, but the only way to resolve it is to close the coloring book’s menu and reopen it. 2) The lack of Apple Pencil Hover to see if the color would be a good fit for a region seems to be a missed opportunity—or at least, the initial configuration lacks such settings enabled. Which yes, the use of Hover is limited to M2 or later equipped iPads (A17 Pro too), it’s starting to obtain wider reach with all but one latest iPad model supporting it.

I really enjoy Lake a lot. So much that I immediately paid for the premium version. I use the app almost every day to color and clear my mind for relaxation in the evening which is great. Except that when you do it that frequently you can pretty quickly run out of fresh pages to color that appeal to your style. The result is that I wish new pages got added more frequently. I find myself going back and redoing pages I’ve colored previously using new techniques or new color options which is okay but not as enjoyable as coloring a whole new page might be. Don’t get me wrong, there are a LOT of pages in the app already but they are a very diverse collection which is a plus but that also means they don’t all appeal to every taste and style. **Update: I really dislike how the “Drawing of the day” update now dominates an entire row of the app when it only reveals one drawing, and the rest of the row is doing nothing except showing you that the other drawings will be revealed on other days later in the week. I understand it’s to create suspense and bring us back but it is also a ton of wasted space, if we could see a hint of what those drawings were maybe it would be appealing. Also, for me 9/10 times the drawing of the day is one I have already colored.
