Wanted WiFi for our oil tank so we could check levels remotely. The app absolutely doesn’t work

Spent nearly an hour installing a new Watchman Advanced/Plus sensor and receiver - went absolutely fine. No such luck with the Sensit USB receiver. App is very buggy - account creation is a nightmare - if you enter an ineligible password you’ll have to force-quit and start from scratch as the password field cannot be edited. Multiple erroneous error messages about unmatched serial numbers and failure to connect to receiver (even though the receiver shows a connection is established). To top it all, once I’d successfully completed the step on the 4th or 5th try and logged in to my account I was told there was no tank registered to the account despite all my efforts. What a waste of time and money - don’t bother.

I work in IT and would consider myself pretty technical, so you can understand how frustrating it is not getting this solution working. I have a Watchman Sonic Advanced oil tank monitor and the associated Watchman SENSiT Smart WiFi tank level USB receiver, and can’t get it work properly. First annoying thing is that it requires your full address and postal code, etc. just to add the device to your account. Why does Kingspan need all that information? Second thing is that it doesn’t show a tank level to start with, and says it could take 24 hours for a reading. Even after waiting hours, there is no reading and no way to know if it is working properly. Third thing, after deleting the tank from your account and trying to add it again, you may eventually get a message saying an “additional tank could not be added” and you need to contact support. Why do I need to contact support when my account shows no tanks or devices setup. This is just poor design and a waste of time.
