Kalendit Work

At the start when I completed my onboarding process there were many shifts to work from i had completed near 90 hours in a month, they were really good but that’s when i realised its just all fake. I have lost my account around a month ago for not having my UTR number and self employment certificate. I completed the form and received my UTR number however, I came to soon realise a self employment certificate doesn’t even exist. After they continuously asked me for it and told me i couldn’t work until i gave it to them, i told them it doesn’t exist and ever since i have received no reply regarding it. I am still waiting for my account to be reapproved by them even though they have had all my documents for the past month. Another thing is that they take days even up to a week to reply to something so simple and they ask me for my information in multiple different emails when they’re the ones that take long to reply, it would make sense if they could ask me in one go for everything they need. They typically don’t reply to what you said in the email as well they just send what they need despite if i ask something that needs an answer. They fell off tbh.

I’m so so appalled. As someone who’s been using the app on and off for 2 years I’ve really seen it fall into decline. All these new rules make it impossible for people to onboard the app even if you’ve worked with them before! All these extra policies make it incredibly costly to use the app and not worth the effort. It’s lenient towards nurseries who don’t respect your time. They can cancel shifts the day before and that’s fine but if you cancel because you’re ill and don’t want to put the children at risk, Kalendit will suspend your account and expect you to pay a £50 fine to get unblocked. On top of that, the nurseries are unprofessional. Because you’re only there for a few shifts, they see you as disposable. It’s evident in how most of the permanent staff treat us. This app enables those workplace dynamics and imo it’s a huge scam. The way the app and the nursery staff treat their agency workers is appalling.

In the beginning this app was pretty good they had loads of shifts but then they started to enforce new rules which cause you to lose all your shifts and you have to pay around 50-30£. for being 15 mins late even if it’s your first time, tou have to pay and your account is suspended for 1/12 to 2 weeks no work! Once you are suspended it’s pretty hard to get shifts back! The support team are unresponsive unless they want money from you.
