iPaddle Language Vocab Builder

My daughter just started using iPaddle and she really likes it. Allows you to use preprogram learning or you can customize it.

This is a very powerful tool for testing /learning English words and Chinese characters and words. The user interface is plain, but the functionalities are beyond the first impression from the simple UI. I like it much more now than the first time I opened it. For the young learners this tool might appear too dry as the primary learning tool. But as the name suggests it can used with tutors/parents for reviewing and testing and I found it very effective in that user case.

I have struggled a lot in my journey of expanding my English vocabulary. Sure, there are books, web sites, and apps that help you do that. However, none of them impressed me as much as this app. What differentiates this app from its peers is its methodology. It automatically fits YOU - no matter if you are an absolute beginner, or a proficient user of the language striving to be even better. The “smartness” of various functionalities that I have experimented also give me a lot of confidence that the author must have given a lot of thoughts on both how to analyze, organize and present all kinds of information of vocabularies of different languages to maximize utility and benefits for the user. Overall I think it’s a novel and effective way to expand your vocabulary. If you are like me, who believe there are smarter ways to learn and memorize new words, and recent advances in algorithmic machine intelligence can definitely improve our learning experiences, you have to give this app a try.
