The app is simple to use; for it's user interface, it's a 5* product. You must understandably have earphones. The test is simple enough, just like the test at an ENT. Here's the problem - it is extraordinarily sensitive to sound. Its degree of sensitivity is so high that it borders insanity. In my room at the backend of the house, with no fan, no running electronics, and no noise, the system repeatedly indicated that I need to move to a quieter area. I had to sit in my car at night with the doors closed and the car off to take the test, and even then it periodically interrupted the test to tell me to move to a quieter area. I would then have to just sit there and wait for the system to realize there is no noise, then click dismiss, and continue the test. Unless you live 100 ft down in an underground bunker with 20 ft of noise canceling insulation, then this app is ridiculous. I don't recommend it at all.

The app was easy to use, even for a baby boomer like me who didn't grow up with an iPad in hand. Just tap when you hear the sound - easy enough! I am happily disappointed to have my fears of hearing loss confirmed. This app gave me the same results that I saw when I went to the doc a couple years back. I am going to make my hubby take this test next and hopefully admit to his own hearing loss. Maybe we can get matching hearing aids with hearts on them. Tell your friends to use this app if you want to prove that they have hearing loss too!

In early April I had a horrible double ear infection and thanks to being uninsured I wasn't able to get to the doctor for several days. I definitely ruptured my right ear drum and most likely my left as well. I had a lot of fluid and a significant hearing loss. I decided to download this app to see where I was at when it was at its worst and now a month later my hearing is fully restored and I can see (and hear) the difference in measurable data. Very nice to have a free app with this kind of access.

About Audicus Hearing Test

The Audicus hearing screening app offers a quick and accurate assessment of your hearing. It's easy: simply plug in your headphones and listen for a series of tones. While it is not a clinical hearing test, it's a great way to find out if you may have hearing loss.

HOW IT WORKS:

The Audicus screening begins when you click on the app icon and connect your headphones.
Please take the test in a very quiet environment, away from ambient noise.

The app will cycle through six major frequency levels and will determine whether you can register pure tones at those frequencies.

HOW TO USE:

Connect headphones
Avoid noisy environments
Press the button on the application whenever you hear a tone
Submit your email to receive the full results
