Wolf Online

I’ve played this game since it first came out. Growing up as a wolf lover this game was perfect for me, I played it religiously and role-played all the time with others. I had stopped playing as much due to getting older and decided that doesn’t stop me from playing what I love. I reinstalled it for some nostalgia and it came to my realization that a new update had occurred where most of the game promotes AI generated art which is odd to me because the many times I’ve played wolf online it NEVER needed AI images to be an amazing game. The AI makes it look trashy and doesn’t fit in with the way the game was already developed, like a chimera living with a group of wolves. I don’t understand why it was necessary when there’s so many pictures online of these dog breeds and wolves to use. Please get rid of it and work on fixing more bugs and making new maps even new wolves too (Dire wolf, Maned wolf, Ethiopian wolf etc.) The game was fine as it is so seeing this update made me incredibly disappointed since I’ve loved Wolf online for so long :(

I used to play this game as a kid, I don’t remember much from back then, but it was probably one of my favorites back then, and I had quite a high level. Despite the models being old, and the game having bad graphics [as most early to mid 2010s games tended to have], this game always had some sort of charm to it. Slowly leveling up, teaming up to take down bosses or strong animals with others of your species, being able to talk freely with others and fight off rival wolf species. I recently came back to this game, and honestly it just wasn’t the same. It was flooded with hackers, along with some maps like arcane River unnecessarily filled with monsters, and as if that wasn’t enough, the developers have added AI to their game adding wild dogs and ‘mecha wolves’, which cost money although having the same stats as wild wolves and AI images for their characters, obviously with no real effort put into them. Not only that, they put a limit on stats. I understand that this limit is to stop hackers from destroying servers, at least to some degree, but in reality its useless to stop them. Hackers will continue to find ways around the limits and cause chaos, and innocent players who have dedicated months to grinding, leveling up, and becoming stronger without modding, will continue to be pointlessly banned for being too strong, or too high level, and nothing will change. What this game once was, genuinely fun, and a place for people to come together and fight against animals and other wolves, has become no more than a painful memory, merely one tiny example of greed and artificial intelligence, winning once again. I used to play this game in like 2020 or 2019 sometime before COVID and when I got this game back they added dogs and I was like “ok?..” and when I tapped on it, all of it cost money and also was AI images. Which isn’t the only thing but like, you couldn’t use a picture of wherever they spawn like the wolves? Or like a picture of the models? It had to be AI? And when I joined the game there was someone who just bought a lot of points upgraded a lot and then was spam killing everyone. Which wasn’t the problem because that always happens but they were using the dogs. I get you want to make money but I feel like the in game dogs and also adding “robot dinosaurs” on Dino’s Online (which also cost money and have AI pictures) just feels annoying.
