Iโve tried literally every habit tracking app in the App Store & this is a complete flexx ๐ช๐ผ on all of them. Building a habit is more than just a consecutive streak for 30 days. A real true habit that is automatic to us often takes 90 days tbh so thatโs why I love the way the app takes this into account. The only suggestion I can think of is maybe in the area where there are pre-listed habits, to add researched tips on how to best incorporate them. Tips like habit stacking sequences, cues/triggers, significance of environment, peer group, etc. For example if you want to work out daily suggest making new friends who live the gym fitness lifestyle or the daily guitar practice gives specific tip like making sure you have obvious alignment & eliminate friction by placing guitar in the center of the room. Itโs really a great app I was kinda shocked how good I put this on the first page of my phone screen - thatโs prime real estate ok ๐ ๐๐ผ
My favorite habit app. Looks so pretty and clean. Takes a little while to set up each habit but that is consistent with most of the habit trackers and depends on how many features you're wanting to use (multiple scheduling, reminders, etc.) I like that it limits you to three things to focus on (on the free version - you can have more in Premium but I'm finding it useful still to keep it a low number since I was used to that the first year or so I used it). I like that you can rate how hard a particular habit is and it will take that into account in the arc of your goal. I also like that it shows how missing a habit for a while affects the current rootedness of the habit. When you see not only the habit and the completions but the relative degree of how much something really has become a habit and you can see how missing it for a couple of days can undo how much of a habit it has become, it helps you stick to each thing a lot more I think than if all youโre tracking is completion. If you have any problems it is definitely worth the time to contact them or do a review - they helped me with a couple of questions very promptly! (Thanks you guys!) I had been using this in conjunction with Productive but now I'm just using this. For some reason the other habit apps just make me stress even when I go in to record progress etc. and Better Habits just makes me smile, and doesn't feel stressful even when I'm dropping the ball a little on a habit. All of the little graphics to record various aspects of your habit still confuse me a little bit - it really does track lots of stuff - but the longer you stick with each habit the more those markers become clear.
Update 2: I can finally give this app five stars. Jared has put a lot of thought, research and work into this app. I can't get myself to do anything daily without the nag feature. Thanks for brining back classic nagging! If only it worked with Snoozing, but I understand it's a limitation of iOS, not the app. Update: I have come to rely on this app to remind me to run. Its nag feature is genius. I also love the graph over the last few weeks of your ability to stick to the task. Thanks for the habit tool! Truly one that is useful. If this had an option to remind you multiple times a day to stretch or drink water, I would give it five stars. As is, it will help me with habits that need performed once a day.
