This is a great app! First time visiting the museum we decided to follow a scavenger hunt in one of the exhibits (infinite blue). The response time was less than a minute. We were asked the ages of the participants so that the clues could be adapted appropriately. It is a great exhibit for the clues given the wide range of genres and time periods of the pieces. When we answered each clue we got additional information about that particular price and its history. It was fantastic. Unfortunately my son woke up from his nap and we had to leave. But if it were up to me I would've stayed and continued. I highly recommend this for ALL ages.

I downloaded the Ask BKN app thinking it would be along the lines of those I have used at other museums, but I got much more than I was expecting! The app gives you instant access to a team of experts from the Museum who can answer questions or add more information about any exhibit you take an interest in. The team are friendly, the response time was super quick, and the app worked seamlessly - because of the app I ended up staying much longer at the museum than I originally planned and learned a great deal more than I anticipated. The app is fantastic! It allowed me to ask questions of professionals in a non-intimidating way without the fear of "looking stupid" or worrying about asking a "stupid question." I had responses to my questions within a minute or two and was able to have a conversation as opposed to getting a pithy, canned answer to a generic question. It allowed me to explore things that I was specifically interested in rather than having to listen to a guided tour that highlighted pieces of less interest to me. Fantastic app, great team of people staffing it, and a super effective way to engage more deeply as a museum goer.

When you’re onsite visiting the Brooklyn Museum, you can use our app to ASK us questions or start a conversation about the work you see on view. You’ll be connected with a team of art historians and educators who know our collection, can help answer questions, and give you recommendations on what to see next.
