Another one on the list of lifetime subscribers who got screwed after the acquisition. The level of gaslighting and arrogance in the company’s official email and every statement they’ve made since is astounding.
This is straight-up awful business practice. I don’t know or care if it’s technically legal for them to do this, but it doesn’t really matter at this point. I would never even consider trusting my private data with a company that conducts business this way.
There are plenty of VPN options out there that are provided by companies that don’t screw their customers and then gaslight them about it.

I rarely use my vpn which is part of the reason I dished out the 1 time payment for “lifetime subscription”. This was a couple years ago. Well I tried to use it just now for shopping from my iPhone and the app says I don’t have access! I paid for that and they simply reneged. Not only that but since trying to login, this app has completely messed up my WiFi connection on my phone. not a single update in 2 years as of this review. Ya know what, good riddance! Slow, inconsistent connections, logs user activity, absolute garbage.

I paid a premium a few years ago to have a lifetime subscription to this vpn service. They have now completely gone back on that as they are a “new company” now. So, sell a bunch of lifetime subscriptions, get a large user base, and then drop any support for the promise of lifetime. Pathetic. This is a bad service and they log you anyway. They found a canary a few years ago which means they are giving their logs to officials. Good riddance.
