This app is great for displaying 3D maps with contour lines! All features are intuitive and easy to use. Panning and pinching functions are very fluid. The maps can be zoomed in to a very fine level of detail. The feature to track your path is nice. This could be a life saver for someone hiking in the mountains. It has a Gyro-Pilot that allows you to 'fly over' any area of the map (all of Europe, if you like). It would be nice if you could adjust the speed at which you fly over an area, but this is a minor point.
A couple of years ago, my wife and I traveled to Naples, Italy. As part of the trip we drove along the Amalfi Coast, which is extremely mountainous (and, of course, has fantastic views!). I used this app to look at the terrain of the areas that we visited and it was very helpful to put everything in perspective. It was fun to use the Gyro-Pilot to 'fly' along the Amalfi Coast. I also used this app to look at Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii (these are near Naples) to help understand their relationship to each other during the 79 AD eruption.

As someone who hikes frequently, I find little value in 2D maps because they do not give me an accurate understanding of the terrain. This program shows you all of the terrain features in three dimensions, so you can actually understand where you are! Very nice.

I installed this app in the view of a future trip in Europe. All I can say for now is that the features are amazing and it works like a charm. I am still learning how to use it but all in all, pretty amazing job!! For a free version, I am very satisfied with what I get. đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť
