Favorites Widget Pro

It’s not a 1-touch dial. 1st I tried making a shortcut & put it as a widget, and yes it will dial w/ 1-touch, but I didn't like their name as just text & not see the bubble w/ their face (I like seeing my grandma’s smiling face when I call her everyday). So I downloaded this & it looks almost the same as before however it isn’t 1-touch. You click the face & then it brings up option to call, facetime, whatsapp etc so that’s why I took off a star. I took off a 2nd star bc I only use 4 contacts (it looks like you can do up to 10 on widget, I’m just saying that bc my 4 take up spots in the widget as if they are 4 of 10, vs just showing them as just the 4, or 4 out of 5 if they are using 5 across in the widget). And paying $1.99 to upgrade to possibly change them to make bigger in the widget is crazy when that at least should be in the free section. If they want to make you pay for the 1-touch option or other added features, that I understand. If they give the option of paying for 1-touch (even tho it’s unlikely I’d pay unless it was cheap) Or give ability to adjust the number of contacts to make widget smaller or fill the widget space, I will adjust rating as well.

I paid for the premium version to have 3D Touch to make a call. It has now been removed with this recent update. It now requires further steps to call someone rather than a two step. It also doesn’t allow me to select the classic widget which is advertised within the app. It was far better before the update. It would be nice to get the previous options back, especially if people paid for the premium version. Prior to that, the app was a 5 star. It’s 3 or 4 for now.

In general this is a good product, though I’ve had difficulty getting the developer to respond to emails. I’d give it five stars except that it only lets you have one contact point for each favorite (only a single email or single phone number) and this makes it kind of useless if your contact has more than one way of calling or emailing etc. For example, if your favorite has a cell phone and a work phone and a home phone, this widget will only let you contact them at one of those numbers (even if you have favorited all of the numbers). In addition, it doesn’t even tell you which number you are going to call by name (I. e. cell or home or work). It just shows the phone number, but who these days knows a phone number? It should tell me by name which number it is trying to call. It has the same issue with email addresses. If your contact has more than one, it just uses the first one it finds and then there is no way to use another. It would also be nice if it would let you choose your default applications. Being forced to use Apple Mail is annoying (but really more the fault of Apple than this developer). Still, it would be something where the developer could fix Apple’s failure. If the issue of only having a single favorite per contact is fixed, I’d bump this to five stars. But without that crucial functionality (even though I paid for the app) I’m uninstalling it and giving it a single star (also dinging the developer for not responding to emails on their feedback email address).
