Let’s start off with for absolutely no reason you’ll be locked out of the account that you’re paying to use. Let me repeat that you have to put money on there to send and receive messages. Yet for no violation of any kind terms or conditions, it’ll say you’re unable to login. Issue number two once you’ve logged into the app why do you need to re-log back in, but for some reason, it loses and forgets your login. Number three there’s a reason that this app and their customer service has some of the lowest customer service ratings in the nation. On top of very poor customer service, you get pop-ups that you can’t get rid of stating that there’s some kind of programming error.

Considering the 50¢ a message now, one would think that the app would be significantly better than what it is. This is my second time using this platform out of necessity and I swear it was less problematic 4 years ago during my first experience. Without fail I experience a couple of glitches weekly that are a huge inconvenience and annoyance so here’s some examples: the only card I use on the app will occasionally be unaccepted, instructing me to call customer service who has no idea why the problem occurs or how to fix it and will then deposit money without any difficulties. Despite my phone automatically inputting my email and password every time I login, I get informed that my information is invalid. Sometimes the issue corrects itself but other times I’ve had to resort to resetting my password. Then sometimes when I’m trying to add funds to my account, the app will allow me to get two steps in and then glitch back to the first screen and it will keep doing it until it eventually stops at some point later on. I sincerely mean it when I say that this app is so bad that I only use it because it’s my only option.

This has happened to me several times but I always brushed it off until a few months ago, when I finally investigated and realized my balance was being skimmed off of. My account balance was zero'd out after not sending any messages for almost a week. Customer service was nasty. They insisted someone had my password, despite the alleged messages not existing in my account & offering them a screenshot as proof. They refused to credit me for those messages & refused to transfer me to a supervisor. After almost an hour on the phone, they offered to create a ticket and escalaye the issue..... after an hour on the phone, Support told me they could not create a ticket & I would have to email Support with screenshots of the last message to each inmate on my account. I reported them to BBB and they never responded. Be warned - this company lost their BBB-accreditation. This happened 2 months ago; I will never trust GTL again enough to deposit more money. Based on the reviews, i'm not the only one. GTL needs to be investigated by the IRS
