This has happened to me several times but I always brushed it off until a few months ago, when I finally investigated and realized my balance was being skimmed off of. My account balance was zero'd out after not sending any messages for almost a week. Customer service was nasty. They insisted someone had my password, despite the alleged messages not existing in my account & offering them a screenshot as proof. They refused to credit me for those messages & refused to transfer me to a supervisor. After almost an hour on the phone, they offered to create a ticket and escalaye the issue..... after an hour on the phone, Support told me they could not create a ticket & I would have to email Support with screenshots of the last message to each inmate on my account. I reported them to BBB and they never responded. Be warned - this company lost their BBB-accreditation. This happened 2 months ago; I will never trust GTL again enough to deposit more money. Based on the reviews, i'm not the only one. GTL needs to be investigated by the IRS

I don’t know how many phone calls or video visits get dropped a day . I’ve lost count . Even when I try to send a picture, message or add money it says “sorry for the inconvenience “ whatever it says entirely there’s an error on their end . Pictures of me wearing outfits I’ve wore to job interviews or meeting are deemed inappropriate I’ve had more pictures denied than accepted and more dropped calls , than calls that reach the end of the calling time . l used to get notified of new messages and I don’t anymore . (They are turned on & accepted ) I have to log back in to refresh new messages coming in. Other jail/prison apps like Securus never gave me trouble . This is the worst. Getting Out has to completely start over to not be the worst, perhaps fire & rehire new staff that knows more?

This is truly the worst, most glitchy, least intuitive app I’ve ever had the misfortune of using. The fact that it’s the only way I can be in communication with incarcerated loved ones is, frankly, an injustice designed to further isolate and emotionally torment prisoners. My messages and payments only go through about 50% of the time, and oftentimes my contact or profile page just disappears for 24 hours. More than once, GTL has deleted my entire message history and all my contacts - I was almost unable to get back in touch with my friend & had to hunt down her contact info. There is no way to contact this app’s customer service — they don’t respond to emails, there is no way to speak to a customer service rep on the phone, and there is no voicemail box set up.
