I enjoy the program. Lots of short lessons that fit into tiny time cracks and my brain can peruse them. I’d like to hear the speakers more times and have a little more time to look at a phrase before it goes away.

Finally, an app made by linguists that builds on how adults learn and gets you understanding and speaking the language in very little time. No wasting time learning vocabulary that is obscure. No time lost wondering what the grammar rules are. (Much more efficient way of learning than Duolingo and Rosetta Stone). Really helps you have meaningful conversations with native speakers. The dialogues are engaging and often humorous. The learner is exposed to a lot of Norwegian culture, too. The audio is also very clear. I like how the grammar feature gives plenty of examples. I love the speech recognition feature. My pronunciation is sounding more native every day. I do suggest the language learner get a good dictionary (e.g. Free Norwegian Dictionary by Farlex on App Store that has IPA, and Ordnett Stor Dictionary: expensive but good for intermediate users). It will also help to familiarize yourself with Norwegian sounds and pronunciation rules on omniglot site online. You may note that the speakers on the app have different accents, depending on which part of Norway they are from. Norwegians have all sorts of different accents and varieties and they can still understand each other. This is part of the reason Norwegians understand Danes and Swedes more than the others do. It's good to be exposed to variety from the start. Thanks Babbel staff. Please keep adding more languages.

This app teaches me many things about the Norwegian language and the grammar, but app does not drill the phrases and words enough and do not help me apply the content. The app continues to test me on the vocabulary and phrases I had only seen twice by trying to make us apply it to these conversations and spelling it. In order for me to remember and learn the vocabulary, spelling, and phrases, I must use a notebook and practice outside the app which is annoying and tedious. The reason I paid for the app is so I do not need a notebook. This course is quiet challenging and difficult. If you are a absolute beginner I suggest you learn from apps like duolingo first then come over to this after you have a feeling for the spelling and words. This app is great for people who have learned a little bit of the language and is trying polish their grammar, spelling, and contextual usage.
