Update - April 2022: Since my original rating, it seems as though developers have fixed the bugs that were causing the app to crash frequently. As that was my main issue with the app, I’m giving them another star. Now, my only real complaint is the lack of ability to “go back” to a skipped profile. I’m not paying for premium, so I’m not sure if that’s a feature with paid plans. Other major dating apps that charge for this feature will at least display the button for all users, so you know it’s an option if you want it.

I first used Feeld about 3 years ago, and was really turned off by how buggy the app is. Constant crashes, frequent need to log back in using a link sent to my email, etc. These bugs annoyed me enough that I deleted my account. About a month ago I decided to join again, as it’s really difficult to use the typical dating apps to connect with others looking for the same things as I am. I thought, surely they had to have fixed these issues after all this time. Nope! Still a huge pain, and not much better than before. Yet here I am, a masochist enduring these frustrations for the hopes of meeting someone(s) special. Sigh. Please, Feeld, get better.

I’ve been on this app for a few years now and it’s always been hit or miss and buggy. And the developers could make it so it doesn’t have to be this way! I live in a major metro area and it’s one of the locations in the list they have. But when you filter to only see people that have been online in last seven days even with a generous distance range, full age range, Females (hetero, bi), and not restricted to specific desires - you get a handful of people a day. This. Also, in the dating world I’m hearing more and more people add it to their app list and you’re seeing more vanilla people on it which is fine - but they have to increase user engagement. Also, it’s buggy. When I pull it up and set it to
My location (again I live in a large metro) I get some users according to my filters. But when I first login, it says out of users in are. So I toggle to the location list, see users, and then back to my location, and see users. This is a bug that should be solved and perhaps why they get less user engagement. Also, if I’m searching in one of the location lists it’s an immediate “pass” on people 1000s of miles away. We should be able to filter these people out.

I’m editing my review to update other people on my experience. This app is just like the rest of them. They don’t actually want you to find anyone, they want you on the app forever and they want you to upgrade and pay for it. Initially, when you sign up, they flood you with likes. Then slowly (within a WEEK), they start locking likes behind the paywall. I have 100 likes behind the paywall right now, and ZERO people left to swipe on. Either these people who have liked me are people I’ve already swiped left on, in which case GROSS because what happened to consent…? No means no. Not “upgrade and give them a second chance”. OR these are people completely out of my search parameters, in which case, why would I want to match with them…? OR the app is using fake profiles to convince people to pay to upgrade. Suspiciously, I noticed one day when I unmatched 2 people, that the number of likes behind the paywall immediately went down by 2. Why would they be hidden behind the paywall if I was already matched with them, you ask? Money. They want you thinking you’ll have aaaaaaalllll these matches after you pay, but they’re just like every single other dating app out there, inflating numbers and using unethical tactics to get you to pay. I’ll be deleting this app and just giving up altogether on meeting someone through an app. Absolutely garbage algorithms and I’m done with it.
