Reviews: What People Think About Oracle Mobile Authenticator

I work for an Oracle Partner so I use this app everyday, multiple times a day. The app works fine but limits functionality. As a partner, I have 20+ accounts for different customers and so it makes it difficult to find the correct account to use. The app would be much better if it allowed us to group accounts in a specific folder so I can put their dev, test, and production accounts together as the customer name. Or I wish it also allowed us to rename the account. So instead of seeing the url as the account name, I can give it something meaningful such as: “Oracle Dev OCC”. At the very least I wish it allowed us to sort the accounts so customer’s instances would be next to each other if they are added out of order.

Who is the person who thought it was a good idea to have accept to the left, and reject bottom right? Also, missing lots of nice basic stuff like automatic backup to either OneDrive or iCloud, making life more difficult if you ever lose your phone or need to migrate to a different device. In general, clunky, basic, but works.

I’ve been using the Oracle Authenticator app for a while, and while it does its job, it is so inconvenient. One glaring issue is the lack of ability to approve 2fa requests directly from the notification without switching apps. Every time a notification comes through, I have to be redirected to the app, which is cumbersome and inefficient. This is a basic feature that many other authentication apps have implemented, and it’s disappointing that Oracle hasn’t assigned 2 entry level software engineers to implement this functionality. I bet two interns could complete the task tbh. This would significantly improve the user experience. Until then, the app remains frustratingly behind its competitors!
About Oracle Mobile Authenticator
Oracle Mobile Authenticator enables you to securely verify your identity by using your mobile device as an authentication factor. The app generates one-time passcode for login. Or it can receive notifications for login, which can be approved with a simple tap. When this authentication is used on top of username-password, it adds an additional layer of security that is essential for today's online applications.

Features:

• Generate one-time passwords even when the device is offline
• Push Notification based approval
• Touch ID or App PIN for app protection
• Set up via QR code, Config URL, or by entering key manually
• Multiple account support
• Generate OTP for other applications that make use of Passcode as per RFC 6238
