Feb. 2018 Update: I am still stuck in Seoul and have been for months. I understand that the levels get incrementally harder as you play for 10 coins then 30 coins than 60 coins. I refuse to spend anymore money playing this game. Making the levels this difficult to progress through takes the joy and relaxation out of playing. Therefore, I have decided that I will only play the holiday events or when there is free access to a new city. With regard to the Everest Challenge, I rarely have more than a few minutes to play at a time. As you progress through the Everest Challenge, can we not keep our progress until we are able to play again? Where is the enjoyment in playing when you continually have to start at the bottom every time you return to the challenge? I have been playing Gummy Drop! for a while now. It used to be my favorite game. Playing was a good way to unwind from a long day. However, it seems that as I progress through the cities it has become necessary to play through each level 2 to 3 times in order to complete the challenge and progress to the next level. I have neither the time nor the patience to spend this much time in each city. I am about ready to give up on Gummy Drop! and look for a new game. UPDATE: I have been stuck in Seoul for what seems like forever. I play daily for a short amount of time to unwind. Levels 101 thru 110 requires playing three times for each level in order to win the reward. The reward is necessary to get to the next landmark. No thank you. I have decided going forward that I will only play the holiday and other special events. My piggy bank is empty!
I had to change my review because I don’t know how I did it but I managed to find my old game I had been working on for a decade that somehow serendipitously went along with my travels of the real world; mostly unintentionally! San Francisco, Nantes, France, Paris, France, New York, Sydney Australia, London, Rome, Miami, Chicago, Florence…. And so many more! It seemed the game followed my travels or I was following it. It is so great to be able to learn about the world from a game and then go see it or Visa Versa! The travel part was what pulled me into this game with no adds, but the game kept me here for a decade. When I thought I lost all that work (over 100 cities) and time I was going to start again! The 10,20,30 thing really had me hurting, so I am so incredibly happy to have my old game back that has the 10,30,60 again. Otherwise, I was almost ready to give up at times (which is why I kept trying to find my old one, and I did!!!) Love all the new things I missed that were added. The game gives so many opportunities to keep you playing, have extra plays, and extra tools! There is the main game, side games to explore, pictures to fill for the holidays, and so much more! It is a fun take on the world we live in to explore here and to get out there and do in real life!
October 2017- UPDATE- the endless random graphics changes and updates are getting stale. This newest rendition of the girl is actually making me play less. Instead of bells and whistles that do nothing but confuse the players who have barely adjusted to the previous update, why not add something that actually makes the game more interesting? For instance - the side path prizes- make them a choice. Many times I don’t need a million bricks, or whatever, but a power up would be very nice. , UPDATE : it's very possible to earn enough coins with the free version of the game if you're willing to be patient and play all three levels of each number as well as the side paths. That way, you can earn 100 coins per number. (10, 30, 60). I rarely buy extra moves, I just play til I win or use the spinner.... I now have 28,000+ coins I earned just by waiting it out. Just one request: PLEASE give an option to turn off the hint function. I love match 3 games but they usually have no "carrot" to attain other than stars. This game is complex enough (but by no means a brain strain) with 3 levels of accomplishment at each individual level, buildings to construct with the winnings, coins to earn to buy lives, treasure chests to unlock, and it's tough enough that I use up my 3 lives pretty fast. If you're lucky you might win extra moves or lives on a spin board...super cute game. Big Fish hit it out of the park with this one. It's fun and I'm hooked.
