Sun Valley Resort

Did the free mountain ski tour with Tim and Katherine (KJ) on Monday of this week, Jan 20th. First day of 5 days skiing Bald Mountain. Exactly what I was looking for!! I had never skied here before. They were both great and they showed us the entire mountain. Having a great time because of a great start to the week thanks to Katherine and Tim!!!

This is a useful app but it could be improved with accurate weather information. The temperatures and forecast are generally wrong and to a large “degree”. The temperature data top and bottom rarely shows any relation to reality. I use multiple weather apps and Sun Valley rarely is even close. And the forecast temps are even worse, so often they show temperatures from morning to afternoon plunging significantly when, or course, they warm from morning to afternoon most of the time. This is important to help skiers dress properly, especially for people who don’t live here. Also, the filter selections on the trail maps should be maintained between views. This is not a big deal but why create extra work for users? Sun Valley is the #1 ski area, it should have the #1 app, it’s all part of the experience.

So I think that this could be a very great app! With the access to the mountain cameras, weather, snow depth, etc, I don’t see why more people don’t use this. But the problem I see is that 99% the stuff is ether inaccessible or isn’t updated regularly. Something like this needs continued updates and attention. I can see this being something that could make the experience that much better. So because of the fact that it isn’t updated and attended to, I will only give it 2 stars.
