Map My Tracks: walking tracker

I always thought my needs were simple, but I’ve tried and deleted several other similar apps because they fell short. Very happy with this one, and the free version is just fine for me. It updates my distance, speed, and elevation in real time. It gives believable stats on cumulative uphill and downhill. (If I hike a loop, I want to now how much I climbed, not just zero gain because I ended where started). And everything I tested actually works. This is definitely my go-to solution. Highly recommended.

I prefer this app over other apps like Map my Walk for one major reason: after my walk is finished, I can use the “play slider” at the bottom of the map screen to see the distance for each segment of the walk I want to measure the distance of. I like all the stats it displays as well. The one thing I wish it did ( maybe it does but I haven’t seen it ) is to display the step count. I also like the weekly and monthly totals. Overall this is a great app and I highly recommend it!

Map My Tracks is a really good, straight forward app for tracking my foot and paddle activities. With just the basic free app. I have a map, log, and all the time/ distance information that I need. I personally don’t use the posting, photos, programming, and networking functions, although I’m sure they are clear and easy to use. I will soon be upgrading to the ‘for a fee’ level in order to have access to even better quality base maps. I had wanted to try out the freebie program first. I am very happy with this application.
