I’ve been playing this game since I was 6 or 7 on my Kindle fire. I’ve gotten the best stuff, max upgraded everything. However, there was once a time, many years ago where I was on the final boss fight against Titan, but I could never beat him. I left the game for a while. When I came back on my old phone, I had to restart my progress. I was heartbroken, but I carried on, and got back to where I had gone before, but it took too long, I guess I just didn’t play enough because it had already been 2 years. I got a new phone, my current one, and had to restart again because it didn’t save my progress. But again, I decided I’d get back to where I was. The best part is, I’m not even upset that I have to restart, I love this game so much that just the journey to the final fight is one that I can play over and over again. So I’m day 3 into my third journey. I’ve already beaten all of Hermits bodyguards and beaten Lynx in eclipse. Anyway, please get this game, it’s not a huge power drain like a lot of other games, it gives you many many hours of fun with a healthy and good progression with armor and weapons. As well as a very high skill ceiling. Also, I’ve never spent a cent on this game, and I’m still having tons of fun. Also, if you get this game, watch the gem videos for like 10 gems a day, it’s so worth it when there’s a really good sale in the shop.
I’m a HUGE fan of this game, so much so that when I reinstalled it recently and discovered I’d forgotten to link it to my Game Center so I’d lost all progress, my only thought was “great! I can rebuild my character better than before.” 🤣 The opponents are challenging, much more so than in the Special Edition; at first I had to often back off in the middle of a round and approach more carefully, thinking about what moves to use. This all changed about halfway through Widow’s chapter, when something clicked and I was able to start moving on instinct. Now I’m in Titan’s territory, counterattacking right through the middle of moves I’ve completely forgotten about. P.S. For those of you who thinks the game is instantly reacting to your next move- you’re right, it is. Now consider how you can use that to bait out moves from the AI that you can punish. Doing a single low kick lets you recover stupidly fast, leading into a high kick that strikes nearly as quickly. TIP 2: any time an enemy is on the offensive, if it’s too dangerous to punish their moves, constantly move slowly backwards- it’ll make them miss some of their attacks, not every time, but enough to give you openings to knock them over. TIP 3: find a weapon you enjoy using and drag it along with you as you level up; even if the upgrade cost is higher than buying the current level’s weapon, having a weapon you’ve fully mastered is more than worth it. I’m beating the fastest weapons in the game with a katana because I’m so familiar with the katana that risks are no longer risks with it.
When I got this game, it was really addictive, combat was awesome, and as a history buff it was cool to see all of the weapons of that era, and the story was very interesting, but now the cons. First once you beat every body guard for a boss, by then the boss is way to strong, so you have to grind a little to get your gear better, but the problem is that it’s based on a level system, you can only upgrade your equipment a certain amount of times until you have to level up, that isn’t a problem until you realize that all the major levels that have given you the most exp have already been beaten, so you are stuck playing one game mode until you finally level up, secondly, challengers can appear to you once per chapter, and my problem with this is that you have no warning about it, once you beat a certain amount of tournament stages, they appear, and if you don’t have your toughest gear on, or you didn’t prepare enough, you have to say goodbye to the awesome weapons they give you. And thirdly, when you buy a special weapon, they cost gems, like in my example you get a version of a katana for 23 gems, I don’t think that’s a problem because the game is free and they need to make money somehow, what I do have a problem with is that if you level up, you can upgrade your special weapon, but soon you need to used gems to upgrade it even further, why would I need to essentially buy it again, if I already had to? Some of these items are pretty high, like 225, so I guess you need to pay a similar price just to make it viable as a weapon? Even though it has its flaws, I love this game, and I would recommend this to anyone
