I boat all over Puget Sound and have used OnBuoy for trips planned in advance and also for extending a trip on the fly when I wanted one more night out. I've used it to book private buoys as well as marina slips, and the coverage in the Puget Sound area is solid. Overall the app is pretty easy to use. The website also does a good job of explaining the small details. That matters when you don't want surprises. What surprised me most is how much more comfortable I feel tying to a private buoy when I know it's been inspected. That detail alone changes the "math" versus anchoring; I don’t wake up in the middle of the night wondering if my anchor is holding. Highly recommend for any boater.
This is the app I’ve been waiting for. Airbnb for buoys, done right. Easy to use, practical when you actually need it, and built around a real sense of community. Bonus points for responsive, thoughtful customer support.
This app does for boating what harvesthost did for camping! I am generally bad about making reservations in advance, this app lets me be more spontaneous. Plus, it’s more reliable and better for the environment than dropping anchor. Thanks OnBuoy!
