Areum: Facial Aesthetics Scan

While I understand that concept is somewhat novel with realistic readings and features like what groups of people on average may be attracted to, I find the sheer cost, and the fact that there’s not a free report when you start out to be prohibitive. You are giving them your biometrics in an era where things like that should be guarded carefully. Your biometrics are worth a lot, and the fact that the company forces you to pay to get package or no package is someone ridiculous. They also adopted a 23 and the style model, asking their users to help them in research, with no form of credit gain via research from users for users. I am immensely disappointed and have my concerns regarding the security of the biometrics on this app.

The actual overall rating number I assume is an AI model that is trained based off of what other people say about similar looking faces. This I do not think is as accurate. What does seem to be accurate are the actual proportions and symmetry breakdowns about the face. For example, breaking down my nose, it said Tip centering was 98.5% (very centered regarding the face axis) narrow nasal width, moderate bridge width, and a balanced vertical proportion. All generally desirable features yet the overall rating of the nose is a 5.2 with no explanation. There’s a disconnect between the two models and the app needs to end up just using one and building on it.

Judging from earlier reviews it seems like they must have improved the UX. But my score was surprisingly low (far lower than I’ve heard before) and there’s nothing to explain why it’s low, or what could make it better. When I tap on the features, it tells me how well proportioned and symmetrical everything is. I simply can’t find an explanation of the negatives… besides that it took a few times to upload because it kept saying it couldn’t detect a face… (but it successfully scanned it)
