I didn’t want to spend all day in a group and decided to download the app and visit the site on my own. Yes, you need to download the app ahead of time if you visit the site, and yes there is only a portion of the app that is free then you pay for the rest. But, if you do this ahead of time it is easy to follow the app, easy to visit all of the points of interest and the history and narrative is easy to follow. If you are looking for a self-guided tour this is the best one for the price. It definitely beats spending the entire day with a crowd.
Not a very smooth app. Narrative not as historical, more ad lib. Can only access 3 items before hitting a paywall. If your onsite with no internet and haven’t bought everything it’s worthless.
