I love how this has changed my relationship with my phone. I had switched to a flip phone but it was just unrealistic for work and I think this is the best solution in a smart phone dependent world. It’s a bit cumbersome with the apple interface (apple’s fault not the app!) but it makes my phone much less alluring. I do wish there was an optional “wait feature” that put a timer on opening an app - like when going to open an app and you add in why you are killing your tree, I’d love if that screen wouldn’t let you open the app for 60 seconds or whatever length you choose so it would provide a greater hang time and opportunity to think. - but even without this I highly recommend the app!

Would like ability to add custom shortcuts to the essential apps list. This will give me more customization for my own apps I use for Evernote and Shortcuts. I would also like the ability to have a long list of essential apps on the Home Screen since. Only showing 4 apps is kind of limited. If I don’t want the clock widgets I could create a larger apps widget.

I have tried various apps and tools to help me with phone addiction or using my phone as a “pacifier”/distraction. For me, none have worked as good as Minimis! I’ve even purchased and tried Brick, but for whatever reason this works better (at least for me). I think a lot of it has to do with the minimal, stripped down new interface you end up working with. And also the steps it puts you through before clicking into your social media apps. Anyway, it might be hard to describe to someone who has never tried it: so I highly recommend downloading this app and giving it a shot!
