Unifi TV 2.0

App version 2.0 now is much more flexible than version 1.0. More intuitive for those “IT savvy”. But if I am one of those who are familiar with simple and traditional way of navigation, I will definitely be scared away from using this app that possibly lead to long psycological effect like “the world now has become so much more complicated than I can handle” since things as simple as watching tv needs you to relearn how you operate things which can be very detrimental to people (think some of the elderly). Our parents are old enough and should not be burdened for something like this. I read some of developers replies to the reviews kind pf expecting us users to get used to it. If I remember correctly developers get their degrees and all learning to create user interface to make things easy for users. Users can learn to adapt but not all will. Shouldn’t the developers adapt to all kind of users and not the othet way around? Or else they will lose those users. IDK. Maybe give users more flexibility like two different UI modes. The normal one and a simple one to cater to these various kind of users who operate differently. I personally can navigate this app (on tv) at the current state no problem. But most of the time I feel overwhelmed by the navigation that requires much more press of buttons and visual awareness (you need to see where the thin orange box is and know when to press back or left as there is no visual cues for that - can be improved) than it did in the previous app. Because I mostly just use this app to watch tv channels, switch between channels and check the programs synopsis while watching (this 2.0 version is terrible at). I can only imagine what it’s like being an elderly wanting to watch some live news without their kids around to guide them.

Very hard to maneuver the menu with the unifi tv remote, especially the Channels. The scrolling menu is painful to operate with no shortcut to categories like previous version. Should have the categories listed instead of individual channels. No one cares about the scheduling of each channel all I (we) want is our favorite channel is ready to watch when turning on the unifi tv.

Hi TMunifi, First of all congrats for the updates.. Second & most important of all & sadly, the upgrade seems to be more like a downgrade. Today i was required to update to watch and it took me bout 30 minutes to finish update and login etc. then i got stressed out with your User interface that was too complicated, it’s hard, requires more effort even just to search or switch for a channel. You know what? I don’t mind being outdated if it brings me peace of mind just to watch TVs and i’m sure most of your customers would agree on this especially the existing customers. To manoeuvre your apps is like using an excel spreadsheet especially when using remote. Every time switching channel you need to choose subtitle again and again. Cant u just make it permanent until we change it when we wanted to. Pls with due respect, make it user friendly like it used to be. It doesn’t have to be colourful and nice to see but hard to watch. This doesn’t have to be complicated, Just simple and nice is enough. Life nowadays is already complicated so don’t add more to that. I know you’re better than this unifi. I’m not mad, just disappointed. But Seriously please do something as soon as possible ya. Thanks..
