I’ve been playing this game since it was new. I love the little creepy characters and their different abilities. I wasn’t playing as much, but the new update has me using more characters than I had been, and the variety has me more engaged. I don’t mind spending a little bit if I get literal hours of entertainment, and with this game it’s worth it. You don’t have to spend money though. It is worth a try if it interests you. I haven’t found any game that is quite like it and I play A LOT of games.

Listen I get it, we all want to make money and that’s exactly what this game was made for. Gone are the days of games being made for fun, this game has a very repetitive loop and every single thing in the game has an ad button attached to it. It’s ridiculous! It’s sooooooo annoying that you can’t just buy ad skips for life. You have to pay a monthly fee just to enjoy a mobile game fully. NOT WORTH IT. I have stopped playing other mobile games for not having ad skips and I’ll stop playing this one for the same reason.
Also, this is stupid game design. They have a fast forward button (similar to the one in Bloons or Archero) BUT you have to beat the level once before you can speed up!? How does that make any sense at all in a game where you don’t backtrack and replay levels often!?
Edit: The Speed Up feature has indeed been fixed. You gain some respect for that. The game has been noticeably smoother and faster. +1 star back for the polite response and great QOL update. 💪🏽

Pros: The gameplay itself has a nice loop, you build your team, there’s some rng in which characters start a round, and you can choose what upgrades you want — functionally each battle is a new strategy and team, and it auto plays. Core gameplay gets an 8/10.
Cons: First, the game event says youll get a legendary unit right? True, but it’s part of a multi-day event where some of the quests required to progress functionally require you to spend money, so not F2P.
Second, ads. EVERYTHING in the game is surrounded by an Ad. Want to get a free shop pack? Ad. Another unit spin? Ad. Reroll units during a battle? You bet it, ad. And I get that devs need money, so the logical thing is to offer a cheap purchase that gets rids of ads right? The devs do that ($6.99), but ONLY for 28 days. So after a month, sorry, gotta pay again if you want to ads. Lack of a permanent no-ads package is a big red flag, you’re better off skipping.
