Reviews: What People Think About Caller-ID

Quick and easy with no crashes so far and have yet to come across a number it couldn't identify. Only annoying thing is that the geolocation lookup is a bit misleading-obviously that only works for landlines which are few and far between these days. Other then that it's the cats pajamas! Update-I forgot to mention that the design of the app is rather outdated. Although it is very simple to use, the lack of a "back" button is extremely annoying. I hate that I have to do the extra step of pressing geolocate before I can clear out the number I am done with and enter another one for it to look up. How could such an obvious necessary function have been overlooked? It's not like the rest of the app was so intricate and detailed that the developer was overwhelmed and forgot to add it in there, this app has literally like 2 things it can do. How hard would it have been to add a third function; the back/clear button?!

There are no ads (so far) and it seems fast, but it always quickly returns only a blank caller ID. In the years I’ve had it, I think it may have identified one number. But at least it doesn’t try to pawn me off on a subscription ID, personal info/history service like all the rest do. Callers with non-commercial legitimate intent should not block their ID’s, or at least unblock it for personal calls. All numbers should be associated with an easily identifiable ID/owner. If they block it, then we should all practice not answering such calls. They’d soon stop waking us and unnecessarily disrupting our days. As long as they get someone to pick up, they get paid; even more if you buy whatever they’re selling. Even if one person in 2 dozen answers, and one in 50 go for their deal, it’s worth it to them. That our congress opted to exempt political calls from Do-Not-Call list regulations was a travesty, and an example of the weaknesses and perversions in our otherwise plodding but sometimes effective government system. If only we could find enough politicians with the guts to separate cash from elections, how much more beautiful and true-to-intent our Constitution would really be.

When I first got this app years ago… it was great… if it was a valid phone number attached to a plan (Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile, etc) a contracted plan, the name would come up. That was all I needed… to know who was messaging me. If it’s a prepay monthly plan, or one of those kind of things, of course the info won’t come up, as those aren’t tracked anywhere. However, in the last few months, the contracted names won’t even show up. All you get is this little message below where you input the phone number that says verified number. To make sure it was the app and not the number, I put in a handful of numbers including my own that I knew would in fact and should in fact come up with the name. Also, their icon at the top doesn’t match what we have… I’m not sure if the app developers went out of business, gave up, don’t know how to keep up, if an update is in order or what the deal is but this app no longer works… and it was probably the best available before, if you were simply looking to match the number with the name like I was. Huge disappointment at the moment.

Most (if not all) cellular phone carriers do not offer the full caller ID service that exists for landline phones. When someone calls a mobile phone, the cell phone caller ID leaves out the name, only showing the phone number and/or city of the caller. Real caller ID shows the number & name of the caller. Since 2013, Greenflight has offered this invaluable free & real caller ID utility for the iOS architecture.

This tool may only be used to research phone numbers that called you or contacted you via social media. All use must comply with applicable international, federal, and local laws. The Caller-ID service is not a consumer reporting agency as by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
