The Alternative Art School

We are thrilled with this app. It makes it so much more user-friendly to have a community of working artists at your finger tips. From visiting artists doing live lectures, to fun workshops, to an engaging always evolving global community, the app allows you to just jump in and have fun.

This program, affectionately known as TAAS, is a much needed breakthrough in artist education. They have created a worldwide network of working artists at your fingertips. Classes are taught by well known artists, relationships are developed amongst the attending artists, coalitions of artists with similar interests are formed, exhibitions are planned….this is a world class art school live in your own space. I have been a part of the school since 2022 and I highly recommend.

I have been taking classes here for some years in another version of the school before it became an app. I love it! To be able to study with and learn from really accomplished and committed artists and curators like Janine Antoni, Nato Thompson, Mark Dion, Aaron Gach — the list goes on and on— for the price of a cup of coffee (okay- a month of coffees) is beyond reasonable and beyond belief. This is a great place for working artists who may have had some gaps in their formal education, or no formal education at all to getting the equivalent of a Yale or Columbia education without paying 80,000+ a year. It simply can’t be beat.
