Any company that forces you to use an app to activate, turn, on, or enable basic features should be shunned. I have been trying for two days now to use the app to activate the system. I have connected it to wifi dozens of times. I have directly connected it to my wifi router with an ethernet cable only for the same error message over and over and over again. No device found…. I can plug the ip address into the app to view status and it has no problem querying the device for information. There is zero need for this device to require an app to enable basic functionality but I assume they are scrapping what ever information they can to sell on to others. . If I had the ability to send the device back I would. I
The app works well, tons of great functions, but it’s weird that it tries to spy on your clipboard every time you open it.
I’m writing this as a review of using this app with the UnifyDrive UT2 (recently released on kickstarter) The app provides most of the functionality i expect. Managing files, streaming, configuring the one click backup, etc. There needs to be a way to see battery life/status, and an ETA of how much time until the device shuts down. There needs to be a way to rename the UT2. Cloud sync for google drive isn’t there yet, it says “coming soon”. Some of the layout of the app is weird, not where I would expect things to be. Settings are scared across different apps, and also a settings app. Rearranging and removing apps from the main app screen is difficult.
