Reviews: What People Think About Neat Kid: Daily Kids Chore App

Chore charts have always been a pain for us. Updating them, making sure they’re marked off, tracking their chores with tickets/beads. This makes the process seamless! I love the feature for photo submission for their chores too! My only suggestion would be to have an option to set up AM/PM chores so they can easily see what needs to be done in the morning before school and what should be done after school. I know you can set a time for each chore but I think for young kids it would be easier for them to see the distinction.

It establishes a good system, but it could be better in my opinion. One thing I noticed is that kids can mark off tasks themselves. I don’t think that’s ideal. At least provide an option that gives parents the flexibility of allowing kids to mark off their own tasks as completed. Rewards could be better. Once they redeem an award it just disappears. There’s a record of it being redeemed, but again, not an ideal way to track rewards. And it’s annoying that you have to create the rewards again after it’s redeemed. Would be better if it was more of a rewards shop. After your child buys/redeems a reward, that reward goes into his/her inventory. Then when he/she actually uses the reward, it can get removed from the inventory. Similar to how RPG games work. Right now we’re in trial and still exploring the app, but if it doesn’t work out for us, we won’t buy.

I have a few things I’d love to see adjusted to where I would be willing to pay for it. 1. Make the images bigger so kids can see better. My kids can’t read yet so they need the photos. 2. Have the completed items disappear from the to do items and go into a completed list so that they can easily understand what’s been completed and what still needs done today. It’s too cluttered and hard for little ones to scroll to see what else needs done. 3. Create a penalties section so we can dock stars for bad behavior etc. the purpose of a chore app is to create less work for the parent and right now the way it is, it’s not really taking the work off my plate because now I have to sit down with them to check off items vs just telling them
