App Profile: VVMS

This is a driver support app.

The purpose of the app is to assist drivers by by displaying and speaking the message signs on Motorways and other major roads together with 'virtual' signs set by traffic authorities to support driving safety and provide information to assist drivers on route.

Normally the app displays the GPS speed in MPH.

When the car approaches a VMS the message is displayed and spoken

This version of the app displays UK National Highways VMS, filtered to only display messages related to road network Hazards such as
"SURFACE WATER, SLOW DOWN"

The app is intended to work in landscape mode only and while running to maintain operation on screen.

The app shows if it has a connection to the live traffic authority data "CONNECTED" showing "DISCONNECTED" when no data is available.

The information comes from a live data feed provided by National Highways.
