Honestly the reviews don’t really put me off, till I see for myself. This isn’t the first hexa game I’ve played so nothing new there. The way the game plays is random but entertaining, in a way. The 2 things that put me off were: #1 we all know that turning off WiFi and cellular we don’t get adds right? Yes, but you’re gonna get bombarded with “NoT CoNnEctEd tO InTerNet” pop ups, meh. #2 Since when do we pay for “ad free” and for only 30 days?? I’m sorry, if I’m paying 9.99 for add free it better be ADD FREE, as in I’m paying to play your game and I’m contributing to your work I should at least enjoy the game as long as I own it, ADD FREE. It’s giving greedy vibes. Meh, That is all.
At first you see the poor reviews and you’re thinking, ‘a game like all the other stack games, how bad could it be’ and the answer is, it is much, much worse. It’s a strategy themed game that stacks RANDOMLY. There are no discernible rules to the gameplay - the computer will randomly stack colors with no frame of reference for where they’re going to go. Let me give you a simple example. A green stack with purple stack on top of it, on the board. You have a purple stack and a green stack to place. You think, ‘how fortuitous, I will clear both stacks.’ You place your purple stack next the stack on the board with purple on top. The game then automatically stacks your newly placed purple stack, on top of your green/purple stack. You now have one stack on the board, with green below, and purple on top. You now have to place your green stack somewhere else. It will also bounce stacks anywhere and everywhere. If you need to stack next to something, it may bounce away, or towards. There’s no telling. This continues, until YOU LOSE. This game seems like a social experiment to observe humans experiencing extreme frustration. Save yourself some cortisol, stay far away from this game. Trash.
The gameplay itself is extremely slow overall but too fast when you are trying to do a ton of matching color stacks together and then it completes too soon so there really isn’t any way to plan for a way to clear the grid without filling it too quick. There’s also an annoying aggressive ad for $9.99 the moment you enter the game and then another ad after you complete a round. The only good thing is so far it seems like you do complete each round fast but probably will get worse at higher levels like some other really bad Hexa sorting games out there. Update: yes the game did in fact get worse. There are constant ads during game play and also before and after each round. I have to close out of the game every minute or so, so I’m done with this game. Thought it was fun at first but it went downhill probably after the developers saw my first feedback and made some changes so it’s not fun anymore or even working.
