芋圓字典 Oo Inn - Learn Taiwanese

I’m a native speaker of Taiwanese, but I’ve never thought of writing in Taiwanese until I started using this app. The design is very intuitive and easy to use. I really enjoy learning a few words every day without any stress. Highly recommended!

This app is an absolute game changer in Taiwanese language learning. Although it is primarily directed at Mandarin to Taiwanese translation, a basic understanding of Mandarin gets you a long way with this dictionary. The latest update – which I just discovered – includes a pronunciation component, which is absolutely critical for those of us, who grew up without a robust understanding of Taiwanese pronunciation with complex tones and nasal vowels. I have a very basic understanding of Mandarin, so the vast majority of the dictionary functions are likely lost on me, outside of very simple, definition and pronunciation. Even taking that into account, this app has made it possible for me to communicate with my family members on a level that I have never before achieved, and it has been so rewarding. I’m so grateful for the developer who put so much work into this!!
