App Profile: Harari Word Translate

Harari Word Translate (HarariWT, HWT, HT) app translates English, Harari, Amharic, and Oromo 20K+ words and short phrases. Additional features include Search autocomplete, transliterations and pronunciation, Text-to-speech for English words, and saving and sharing the translation. Work is underway to reach 50K (and beyond).
The app provides text conversion or transliteration (converting the Ethiopian alphabet to English for Harari and Amharic languages) for both translated words and plain conversion of text paragraphs to help Harari Diaspora children pronounce the original word or text written in the Ethiopian Geez alphabet.
The long-term and ultimate goal is to have enough translation data to build a full translation system that takes advantage of recent advancements in AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology, similar to the one being used by ChatGPT. That long journey begins with this app.
