This celestial navigation app is by far one of the best ways I have found to learn how to use an actual sextant and is amazing how easy to use!!! Not to mention a great backup for all your navigation systems on your vessel if , in the event you lost your systems on your boat!! GREAT JOB!! It’s a true game changer in navigation!!
I am a long time user of celestial navigation, a licensed master, retired US Navy Captain, and a passage maker. In this GPS-based world of electronic navigation, I have always maintained redundant backups, including paper, charts, and celestial navigation. This app delivers shockingly good results with my iPhone 15. Thanks to this great app, I predict that I will soon lose my proficiency at taking sights with my sextant and then deriving my position with the nautical almanac, and pub number 229, because the app makes quick sun lines so easy!
