OurCal: Shared Family Calendar

My family needed a better way to organize all of our tasks and keep on top of things. I use a wall calendar, but my husband pretends that it’s invisible sometimes. We liked the idea of the skylight calendar but hated the price. I found OurCal on the App Store and it looked like it had the same capabilities as the skylight calendar so we gave it a shot. We are a few months in and it has made our lives so much easier. My husband and I can enter in appts and share it on the family calendar so we are always on the same page. The plus feature, which is actually affordable, makes it easy to repeat appts like dance and karate so I don’t have to spend an hour entering it in week after week. 10/10 would recommend.

I was trying to find a way for my husband and I to share our busy schedules, but most of the apps I found made you pay for all the features or were cluttered with ads. This one immediately stood out from the rest. It was very easy to set up, import my existing events from my default iPhone calendar, and invite people to share. I love how I can make many different calendars and choose if they are shared or just for me, but then I can see everything together on one screen. My husband and I have spent a whole decade together trying to keep track our lives, and this was the first thing that was actually effective! Highly recommend!

This app is awesome. Hands down probably my most used app. I love that my girlfriend and I can make a shared calendar because we have complex work schedules and stuff. Also works really well for my family -I remember using an old app named Cozi years ago and it sucked -this app is game changer and works well to see everybody's schedule. I just hope they keep it free and no ads otherwise I’ll probably look elsewhere for a different calendar app. My only complaint is that when you first setup the app it’s kind of hard to figure out how the shared calendars work. Maybe make more emphasis on that and the ease of use.
