I rent a Tesla from Hertz for Uber. If you create an account on the Tesla app, you can usually add a rented vehicle for full functionality. For some reason, the Tesla I have right now will not connect to the Tesla app. Very frustrating to have to use the key for everything! This app works flawlessly, but fails in one aspect: It can’t control the climate inside of the car. In other words, you can’t start the A/C or heater prior to entering the car to have it at the desired temperature when you’re ready to go. The door open feature is GREAT though—this is not even offered in the actual Tesla app! So many passengers STILL have no clue how to open a Tesla door, despite how easy it actually is. This solves the problem by allowing you to literally open any of the doors for them from the app. Note: This only works with the car in “Park.” Great app, but please figure out how to control the climate ASAP.
I didn't expect the passenger door could open, and it automatically pops open when you get close, without needing to pull the door handle.
