KICK - Live Streaming

“This app stands as a monument for a better future for content creators.” Being apart of the live streamer era for quite some time now and as the culture evolves as well as expands—its hard to make an honest living. Kick aims to be a platform that always keeps the creator at its heart. With better payouts, familiar design principles that captivate an audience, the proper tools necessary to grow your community, and now; A mobile app that stands as a monument for a better future for content creators a like. The UI on mobile is entirely user friendly. The ease to navigate between tabs at your fingertips as well as edit parameters on your channel allow for total control at the push of a button. With no harsh downtimes/bugs yet to be seen, consistency with blazing fast load times. Its hard to not love what kick offers. As its only the first day of the apps’ launch I am thoroughly impressed and cannot wait to see what other innovative features the team at Kick brings to its consumers!

I’ve been using Kick on iOS for about 6-8 months now and while I love the streams on the platform (Kino Casino and Chud Logic stan for life!)…there’s a fatal flaw in how it’s built on iOS that prevents me from really using it properly: the Automatic setting for Picture Quality. Due to current circumstances pertaining to slow…almost UNUSABLE on some days bc of dozens of people using it all day…Fiber Optic Internet, I’m forced to play streams on 160p to 240p and just listen at times. But whenever it needs to buffer again, IT KEEPS RESETTING IT BACK TO AUTOMATIC! I ran through my monthly data plan in 3 nights merely because it kept on Automatically setting the Picture Quality to 360p and up to 720p WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE and I’m so sick of it! I absolutely love Kick as a platform and I hope they eventually eclipse and make Twitch obsolete (like they deserve to be)…but until they can fix a “simple” issue like KEEPING A CONSISTENT SET PICTURE QUALITY FOR NAD CONNECTIONS TO BE ABLE TO KEEP CONSISTENTLY LISTENING WITHOUT THEIR PHONE BILLS CHARGING A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OR NONSTOP STUTTERING/BUFFERING WHILE CHANGING IT BACK EVERY 15-90 SECONDS…they just may lose more viewers to YT Clip Channels and whatnot since it’s such a hassle and an utter annoyance to contend with little issues like this! Great picture quality and sound…bad consistency on the settings. Please FIX THIS ASAP KICK BECAUSE I WANT TO KEEP USING THE PLATFORM!

Not only does this app have continuous glitches preventing it from doing what its advertised, the platform simply does notshow any care for its viewers and the people poiring money into it. Ive given Kick a year to show some sort of improvement and Im only seeing more glitches onntop of the continuous ones that were there when i first got it 2 years ago. Plus, I justsaw that it was using 35 GB of my local phone storage AND it costs more than the browser? Kick is still in beta after 3 years and has its glitches, but thats no excuse for the continued lack of improvement for the viewer. The kick app not only has far less functionability than the website, freezing forcing you to refresh, losing your spot in chat, even showing host notifications for a previous stream when you’re watching a whole new streamer, but you actually are paying more for this dysfunctional, scam of an app. Subscribing/gifting and purchasing anything off the app costs more, yet you get far less than if youre on PC. The app blocks people when you’re simply trying to respond to them in chat and it doesnt even have basic, functional moderator actions for the mods working to uphold streams. This app needs to be wiped and redone completely and I will not be putting anymore money into Kick until I see actions that show they care about the viewer, those funding the streamer and Kick’s service.
