SurTaal - Alankar & Raag

I really enjoy the features available when the app is open, especially being able to play the Raag with various adjustments. However, I’ve noticed a few issues. After locking the screen, the tabla often stops playing after a few seconds, and the string accompaniment may eventually turn off as well. Additionally, if I receive a call, the music stops and does not resume automatically afterward. For a paid version, this kind of behavior is unexpected. I hope the developers can address these bugs so we can enjoy the app to its full potential.

Must have features that are missing 1. No harmonium sound to accompany alankars. ( In sep 2023 they said that they are already working on it, it been 9 months and still that is not added) Good to have features that will make this app best in market 1. Integrate vocal pitch monitor to app so see if we are hitting notes properly. There are already many apps that do this for free like Singscope, nail the pitch. 2. UI can be improved, the app only works in portrait mode. Ipad is mostly used in landscape mode and hence this is problematic. 3. Adding some more vocals for aakar, om etc 4. Some way to add ornamentations like meedh / vibrato when doing alankars 5. Options to have western notations too.

Riyaz Pro is a fantastic app for anyone looking to practice Eastern classical vocal techniques. As someone who is new to this type of music, I found the app to be incredibly intuitive and user-friendly. The patterns in all scales and thaats are extensive, which is great for someone looking to really hone their skills. Overall, I highly recommend Riyaz Pro!
