i haven’t traveled yet but the comments were very helpful. US chip is on the back . One of the passports i scanned i had to opened the back page and got it off the inside of the last page. We will see how it goes once we get through our trip. Dont hold your phone flush to the passport . You need to elevate it a little bit and move slow .

Downloaded this app and tried to scan our passports right away, after an hour of trying (following the tips from other reviewers) couldn’t get the phone to see the chip at all. On a whim I tried again a couple days later and the chip scan worked perfectly first try on mine and my partner’s iPhones (different models). Strange but this was our experience.

Although there is no vibration, once you start to see % stop moving the phone. I do recommend removing any phone case you have on for it makes it faster and hastle free. Unless your board then my trip isn't until June so I can not enter my boarding information so I'll wait until I'm closer to that time. Breath, and keep trying.
