My Spiritual Toolkit AA Steps

When this app was first shared with me in early recovery, I didn’t think too much. The part I wanted to use most was the gratitude list, probably because it was not part of the free offerings. I’d been writing and sharing it in text, so not a problem. When I saw that the premium was only $10 after I downloaded it, but was offered for free to those who couldn’t afford to pay, I went ahead and paid for it and have every year since. I will gladly pay, since they offer it to those who cannot. As far as the app goes- love it! Not too much fluff to get in the way. I love having access to the prayers for when I need a boost. The inventory helps me clear my head at night. I can tell when I start my day late and miss reading the daily and doing my gratitude list first. It’s not right without my routine. I have certain people I send my list to every day, plus whoever pops in my head. I found it’s a nice way to say “thinking of you with gratitude” when I share it. Get it and try it out!

Don’t be fooled by the in-app purchases, this app is the real deal. My sponsor asked me to memorize the 3rd step prayer, and this app is the reason I was able to. This app has helped me with amends, growing closer to God as I understand him, and growing into a better person through that. Before this app, I was suffering and angry and through the handy journal and spot check feature I’ve grown into a better man, and all the different prayers helped a newbie like myself be of service in different ways. The creator does have a function for the less fortunate and is quick to respond with a personal response and I’ve been dealing with health problems and waiting on disability so am flat broke and he responded 2 times in less than a day making me feel even more a part of the wonderful and loving community of AA. Not saying this either so people can take advantage of the creators but in the end, if you do, the bottle is right around the corner, and so is the madness and death that comes with it. I’m am so very grateful for this app, the people behind it, and the many tools that have helped me so many times already. Keep up the awesome work and I will pay it forward once I get my first disability check. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

My Spiritual Toolkit has been a foundational part of my recovery for almost a decade now (as of this writing). I used to email my first sponsor, at his suggestion, my nightly 10th step review. When I switched to my second sponsor, I had a mini-crisis: should I keep sending my 10th steps to my first sponsor? Start sending them to my second sponsor, despite not yet being "at that step" in my second time through the 12 steps? This app was my solution, after I think hearing someone else mention it in a meeting. The data is portable, as is the app sign-in: I have 2 primary smartphone devices, both of which are logged in, and I have also used a laptop computer on occasion. I have still never used the "spot check" inventory feature, and that is probably shortcoming of my own recovery! But I smile when I see that, most nights, in the app, and think back to one of my favorite slogans which seems relevant: "if I don't get the program, the program will get me." The app has more tools than I have needed so far, and there is a comfort to knowing it has still more available should I need them. Nathan has also been very responsive and professional via email, for which I'm very grateful.
