I really enjoy Garden News and bought many issues with no major problems before the recent complete overhaul update. Unfortunately, the update is the worst disaster of an app I've ever dealt with. The update deleted all my purchase data and previous downloads without notification and is so unstable and slow-loading that I have found it virtually unusable. It takes 5-10 minutes for the program to load basic issue data (cover images and descriptions) upon opening. It also frequently loads old cover images in lieu of the actual pages of issues you are reading. Worst of all, it frequently resets itself for no apparent reason, dumping all your purchase data along with any issues you've downloaded. Given the restrictions on the issues you buy (only being able to access them on Apple devices through this one app) I highly recommend steering clear of this app. You may well pay for things you will not have access to when you want and you won't have any other options for reading the issues you paid for. I hope they fix all the problems, because the magazine itself deserves better. 4 stars for the magazine, but less than 1 for the app.
