Signed up to a free trail, after it was up they took a whole years fee out of my account. I read every single email I receive and don't delete any. They falsely claimed to sending me a reminder email. So they broke their own terms and conditions. Called up demanding a refund and they refuse to give one and claimed they can't. I've never dealt with a business like this my whole life that does not give refunds. They obviously care more about making money than their own members. I'd avoid at all costs. Gave me a refund in the end after months of asking… so their lied about that too. One of the worst customer support experiences I’ve come across. Employees genuinely sounds so depressed
Trying to activate a membership which I receive as a reward through another subscription. Logged into my account via the app, tried to activate membership using a PIN, enter the pin, app shows a tick, press continue and...... absolutely nothing happens. No feedback to say something is wrong, just an endless loop of pressing continue for nothing to happen. Now, I thought maybe an app issue, I’ll try it on their website first. But of course, their website only lets you log in using a membership number and not the email and password system the app uses. Because of course, why not?! So I have no membership number as I can’t activate my PIN, and I can’t activate the PIN because the app does nothing. This pretty much sums up my previous experience of gourmet society, I.e. it’s a total waste of time and not worth the effort. You’d need to be mad to actually pay for this service to get access to hardly any discounts (certainly if you happen to not live in a major city) most of which are already available online for free
From recent comments, the Gourmet Society has fell apart. The ‘new’ App doesn’t seem to help you find a restaurant and the website shows mostly shabby ones, certainly not connected with the word ‘gourmet’. This was ‘given’ to me as part of the Lloyds Bank ‘rewards’, I’ll be complaining to them about this... As for the App, it now seems disconnected from the website and my plastic card. While there are FAQ’s about authorising your card number in the App as a ‘digital card’ these don’t actually say how to do this and I’ve spent hours trying to find out. In order to be able to login to the App and Website I’ve had to use both the website and app ‘forgot password’ mechanism and reset them using the same password. I still can’t get the ‘digit card’ to be displayed in the app, it’s as if the website and app are not linked...? The letter I got with the card even prompted me to not need to use the plastic any more, yet it doesn’t work. Support items and phones don’t seem to be working either... Is this was what others see...? Have I been given a waste of time card?
