The shopping and pattern portion of this app works fantastically. My concern is with the class interfaces (not the classes themselves, the classes are very well made). When you’re in the class list, it will usually shoot to the top of the list when you get into and out of classes. Which is annoying if you accidentally click one while scrolling and you have to start over. However, the most maddening feature is not being able to navigate the discussions. I can look at discussion posts, post, and reply, but the back arrow to return to the main discussion feed does not work. Example: I have a question during the video and see that another student has asked it. I click on the question, see the feedback, and then I’m stuck. The only want to get back to the main discussion is to close the entire video and reopen it. Since this video list automatically starts me at the top, I have to search for the video Every. single. time.

Generally if I am watching my classes on Craftsy, the app is great. It works fine. And the platform is still better than anybody else's online crafting courses. However, it has one feature that I HATE: I have over 200 classes, and scrolling through the list on the app to find them is positively mind-numbing. I have to go through page after page, and if I stop to bring one up to look for something, it returns me to the TOP of the list all over again. PLEASE Craftsy, just give me a list, and stop trying to be so darn slick. The search function is functional, but sometimes I don't know wha time looking for, and finding classes is a real pain. And there is another general issue: Sometimes the app is unreliable in a sense. For example, today I opened discussions to read them, and I can’t get them to collapse so I can look at the rest, even after restarting the app. And in case you are wondering, I work at a college...in tech support, so I’m not exactly a newbie when it comes to how the darn thing should work. I use my iPad Air 2 typically, and I have excellent band width. There should not be issues with syncing, etc.

I love Craftsy videos, they’re well made, feature great content & the platform makes it easy to use them on my tablets, laptop & TV, on & offline. I own a local yarn store (LYS) & we teach all kinds of fiber skills, so Craftsy is our competition. It’s also a great addition to what we offer. Why? Because it reinforces what we teach. It’s also helpful for our customers who live too far away to come in regularly (were in south TX & have customers who drive hours to visit us). I love being able to offer our fiber community an option that’s cost effective & convenient. For those who don’t have high speed internet, you can even download classes and use them offline, perfect for rural crafters!
