I use this a lot in Southampton for Bluestar buses. The app works well BUT it appears to simply trot out the timetabled bus times. On some routes the buses go around in clusters of two or three, and so you wait for half an hour or even over an hour late at night. The obvious solution is a live data feed. If Bluestar have a GPS fix on their buses they need to supply those feeds as a data stream. Compare to data transport apps are able to show in London: they have a precise fix and even the registration numbers of which buses are coming, so you immediately know whether to wait or walk or get a cab.

Now retired and with free bus travel this app has really let me explore my local area. Maps of routes and stops. Live bus times etc etc. Takes me out into the countryside and takes me home at the end of a walk. The best!!!!!

And I’ve tried a few. No subscription charge which is great. Most of all it works, certainly when Ive needed it to. Best thing is (other than being great for working out which bus to catch, what route it takes etc) when the bus is late this app (depending on the service operator) while everyone is looking at their watches and moaning, wondering when it’s going to turn up this app tells you where it is and how long it’s likely to be. A must have app for using public transport in the U.K.
