The Great Composers

This simple app was a disappointment. It merely allows you to click on a composer's name to read the material posted for free on wikipedia. There are no graphics (other than a painting of the composer's face) or listing of what the composer wrote. There are no music samples. The text cut-and-pasted from wikipedia is merely dumped onto the screen and made slightly difficult to read due to the running together of paragraphs and lack of indentation. After reading through about a dozen entries, I deleted this app.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Very well organized and descriptive account of western music history with detailed history of composers. As the mother of a young piano prodigy, this can help us learn about each composer as he advances in his study.

This is the most user friendly historical and educational app for the purpose of learning about the history of classical music I have ever used. I am a musician with over 30 years professional experience.
