There is a free version of this app available that has the exact same amount of features that this paid version does. Now, I don't mind donating to organizations that are helping language learners, but it is so deceptive to tell users that this app has more features than the free one. Save yourself the $3 and just click on the company name to find the free version of this app.
This is really an excellent app to help train your ear to tones. I’ve been learning mandarin for several months now and I’m still having trouble distinguishing some tones when in combination. This app really helped with that a lot.
How this app is not on the top list of every beginning Chinese student's list of apps, I will never know. I am at an elementary/intermediate level and I find this app a great refresher. I could not be more pleased to invest my money in this app.
