The Purple Frog

This is our first electronic book. He loves being read to in this one. The reading voice is perfect. The back ground noise made it more interesting. Yes there were a few issues BUT I don't think this will stop his intellectual growth. He even drew a picture of the frogs playing afterwards. And at our house...we play with cars and tracks! So even though I wondered if it was a mistake, my child did not. Thanks for a good book!

The story is quite simple but very nicely done. The music and narrations are relaxing and better than so many other narrated stories. The illustrations are lush and colorful. I also liked the option to touch each word and hear the word spoken. The word can also spelled out loud if you wish. The story is short enough that those with short attention spans will stay engaged.

This is a bit of a tough call. On one hand, the illustration is extremely well done, the sentiment/moral of the story is good, and voice talent is refreshingly different and not condescending. But the only interactivity provided is the story words. There is nothing to explore in the wonderful art, and given other digital book offerings available, the story may be engaging for only the youngest of readers. Still, a nice little story with an appropriate message.
